"Oh my god..." Ali muttered.
"I get that a lot," Rex said, and they kept walking.
"What's their names?" Ali asked, curious now.
"There's my big sister Galla, my big brother, Broch, me, Terry, and the littlest one is Cera. She'll turn five next week."
"Aw!" Ali grinned. Her youngest sister, Ani, just turned four.
"Yeah, but, see...that thing Dad had..." Rex said quietly, "The doctor said it's hereditary. So, we needed to look out for it in the younger kids...Cera was diagnosed with it about a year ago..."
"Oh, no..." Ali looked stricken. Five years old, and already so close to death. "And let me guess...no donor..." Ali added. Rex shook his head.
"Aw, Rex..." Ali almost hugged the poor boy.
"It's nothin," Rex insisted, "I'll win this thing, and then maybe we can use to money to find a way to help..."
Ali felt bad now that she was fighting against him in the tournament. If she won, she would just blow the money on a car for her sixteenth birthday or something...but two of Rex's siblings were already working to keep the family fed, and Rex was just trying to help his sister. Joey would definitely appreciate that...
"Don't worry about us Raptor kids," Rex smiled, trying to cheer the girl up. She was much prettier when she smiled (I love that song! ;D). "We do aw'right."
Ali nodded reluctantly.
Rex had seen the look on her face when he'd told her about his sister. So he didn't have the heart to tell her...he had the disease too...

Kris turned around to find nobody there. She turned back and looked at Ali and Rex, she dind't have the heart to break the two of them up. She could wait a few more minutes...

Silence engulfed them both for a while. Heart disease can be kind of a conversation stopper! ;D
"I think...I oughta go find Weevil now..." Rex muttered, "He doesn't do so well alone..."
"No, he strikes me as a posse type of guy," Ali smiled. "But maybe I'll see you guys around?"
"Maybe..." Rex couldn't look her in the eye now. "See ya..." he muttered and walked off.
Ali watched him go, and when he was out of sight she said, not looking over her shoulder or anything, just standing there like she had been, casually, "Come on out Kris. You too Adi."
Adi crashed through the bushes. "Man, and to think, I was worried about finals!" she said, grinning, but her eyes were sad, "He's got some self-esteem issues too, that one..."

Kris didn't say anything, she leaned against a tree, her eyes glued to the grass.

"So..." Adi mumbled, still holding on to her bear with one hand.

[High Priest Ali]

"But it's not him I'm worried about..." Ali whispered.

(WARNING: Although it may seem like Kris is pissed [and she is] she still loves all of you ;D)

Kris looked up at Ali, "it's not him you should worry about?" she asked. "Then who should you worry about, Ali?" she asked almost in a whisper. "Shouldn't you be worrying about yourself? After all you're the one that kept the fact that Ryou wasn't really Ryou to yourself fo so long. And you knew what was going to happen and yet you didn't do a god damn thing about it."

(Never take the Lord's name into vain...I didn't mean to I promise.)

"Kris..." Adi whispered.

[High Priest Ali]

"I didn't wanna hurt you," Ali said, "I thought if he really loved you, he'd tell you himself. But I always stayed close."
