(Sorry guys, just got Halo 2, been watching Red vs Blue, on a MAJOR kick right now. Halo and YGO seem to go together anyway, so *cough*Kris*cough* sit down, shut up, or reply, and enjoy the ride! XD lol)
"How do you zoom on this thing?"
"Ugh...R3..."
"No! That's the PS2 setup!"
"Well, then I have no idea..."
Have you ever tried to teach someone to play Halo 2? It's not a job often voluntarily taken. Since Duke knew more than Ryou, and Tristan knew nothing at all, guess who was teaching Tristan the ropes?
"Why do I get the little gun? Can't I have the sniper rifle?" Tristan asked.
"No way! Rookies NEVER handle the sniper rifle." Duke said.
"He won't let me use it either..." Ryou muttered.
He also always called them Rookie. Each boy's profile was based on a different Red vs Blue character. Their team was Red. Since Tristan had chosen Grif and Ryou was assigned Donut, Duke ranked highest as Simmons. They lacked a Sarge, to all of their great discourage.
The three were all in Duke's room. They had only 2 Xbox controllers and Duke was forced to JoyBox rig a PS2 controller into his slot. He didn't mind. It was easier that way.
"When's my turn?" Ryou asked.
"After Tristan can hit the freaking windmill with the damn rocket launcher..."
"It's not my fault! I've never played!"
"It's moving like 2 miles an hour!"
"The hell is that?" Ryou interrupted.
"What?" Duke asked.
"That."
They all heard it now. It sounded like an engine. It was coming from the game. But none of them were driving any of the vehicles.
"Oh, no..." Duke looked at Ryou.
"You don't think..?" Ryou looked at Duke.
"Woo-hoo!"
The cry came over the Live link. The engine sound grew louder.
"Move!" Duke yelled and the three leapt out of the mouth of the entrance. From the beach came skidding a Warthog bearing three figures. The Blues.
Joey was driving.
Yugi was on the turret.
Kaiba yelled again over the intercom, "Suck it, Red!" and fired a round of machine gun bullets at the fleeing players.
"What the-"
The words hadn't escaped Tristan's mouth before the jeep ran headlong into the windmill blade. It veered off course, smashed into the adjoining wall, and landed in the windmill's rut.
"Oh, shit! Wall!" Duke picked up their headsets as Seto cursed. He handed the other two to the boys in his room.
"Oh, f**k! Ditch!" Kaiba was still yelling.
"Caboose! You cannot drive!" Yugi shouted.
"Not my fault." Joey quoted, "Someone put a wall in my way..."
"Double f**k! Windmill blade!"
"What is this?" Tristan asked.
"I knew we shouldn't have left a link open to them!" Duke growled.
Live Xbox allows teams to play with or against each other. Before Tristan started playing, the five boys always played Slayer on an open channel. Habit had forced Duke to set up their training session on a Live link.
"It's the Blue Team." Ryou explained, "Kaiba's Church so he's in charge of them. Don't worry about it, he can't hit a damn thing."
BAM!
Ryou's player took a shot to the head.
"But I can!" Yugi called over the line.
"Oh - my - God!" Duke felt his mouth fall open.
The Warthog was stuck wedged to the windmill and it's rut. The Blues were riding it up and shooting at them from above.
"And they always refer to themselves by their character names." Ryou added while Donut respawned.
"Move! Again!"
The three took cover as the Blue Team began hurling grenades and machine gun fire at them.
"Training's over!" Duke told Tristan.
"Hey, I'm not that bad!" Tristan said cheerfully, "They hit the windmill too! Going 60 in a jeep!"
"Suck it, Red!" Joey yelled over the line.
