"Hey, Seto..."
He tried to ignore her.
"Hey, Seto..."
It wasn't easy.
"Hey, Seto..."
His finger twitched.
"Hey, Seto...hey, Seto...hey-"
"OK!" he snapped, finally turning to Alex and asking through gritted teeth, "I'll bite. What is it?"
Alex grinned and asked, "You wanna buy a duck?"
"Oh...my...God..." Kaiba turned away from her again.
"Please? Play with me, Seto?" Alex wrapped her arms around him and tried to make him look at her again.
"What is she on about?" Tristan asked.
"It's a game we used to play..." Kaiba muttered.
"How ya play?" Joey asked.
Kaiba shook his head, mouthing 'no' to the boy, but it was too late.
Alex jumped off the school wall and got into Joey's face instead. "You wanna buy a duck?"
"Uh...sure?" Joey grinned.
"No! That's wrong!" Alex giggled.
"A what..."
"A what?"
Kaiba looked up from his book, "You're supposed to ask her to repeat it."
"Repeat it?"
"Start again!" Alex said, "You wanna buy a duck?"
"A what?"
"A duck."
"Um..."
"Does it quack..."
"What?"
Kaiba sighed and looked up again, "You're supposed to ask her if it quacks."
"If what does?"
"The duck."
"What?"
"It's no fun if you explain it!" Alex said exasperatedly, "Show them, Seto."
Kaiba hesitated. He didn't like having them all staring at him like this.
"'K..."
"You wanna buy a duck, Seto?" Alex grinned.
"A what?"
"A duck!"
"Does it quack?" Seto sighed.
"Yes it quacks."
"How much?"
"Five bucks!"
"Wanna buy a duck, Wheeler?"
"OK, wait," Yugi said, "So...when you're done, you ask someone else?"
"It's a chain game." Kaiba said, "You see how long you can go without messing up. Now, do you wanna buy the f***ing duck?"
"Be nice." Alex said.
"You wanna buy a duck?" Kaiba asked again.
"A what?" Joey asked right this time.
"A what?" Kaiba repeated.
"A duck!" Joey said.
"No!" Kaiba and Alex yelled as one. Joey flinched.
"I have to ask her." Kaiba said.
"Now, I'm really confused." Tea said.
"It's a chain game!" Alex explained again,"We keep going back and forth until-"
"Until we f*** up!" Kaiba grinned.
Alex hit him.
"So when you ask me what, I ask her." Kaiba said.
"And I'll tell him 'a duck', so he can tell you." Alex said.
"Oh, I think I get it!" Yugi said.
"Can we start with him then?" Kaiba asked Alex.
"You already asked Joey." she said.
"He keeps f***ing up..." Kaiba whispered.
"Hey!" Joey snapped.
"Start over!" Alex cried again. "K, ask somebody."
"Yugi, you wanna buy a duck?" Seto tried again.

"A what?" Yugi looked back up at Seto, and the moment he finished asking, Seto turned to Alex.
"A what?" he questioned.
"A duck!" Alex said happily.
Kaiba turned his gaze back to Yugi before answering, "A duck."
"Does it...quack?" Yugi questioned, almost uncertain for a moment.
Again, Kaiba turned his icy blue gaze to Alex before asking, "Does it quack?"
"Yes it quacks!" Alex chirped marrily.
"Yes it quacks," Kaiba repeated, once again to Yugi.
"How much?" Yugi asked, more certain then he had the previous time.
"How much?" Kaiba dared to ask Alex.
"Five bucks!" Alex said, now bouncing back and forward on the balls of her feet, as though through the excitement she couldn't qite hold still anymore.
"Five bucks," Kaiba told Yugi.
Yugi turned his gaze to Joey and paused for a moment for the look that he got from Joey made him stall just a moment. Joey's chocolate coated eyes seemed to radiate that of confusion, as though he was still lost on how the game was really played.
Thinking twice about it, Yugi turned his gaze to Tea and asked, "Hey Tea, do you wanna buy a duck?"
Tea looked up at him, as though surprised she heard her name at all, though she finally answered his question. "A what?"
Yugi turned back to Kaiba, "A what?"
Kaiba turned to Alex, "A what?"
"A duck!" Alex announced.
"A duck," Kaiba told Yugi.
"A duck," Yugi repeated the word to Tea.
Tea hesitated for a moment, trying to think of the next line before asking, "Does it quack?"
"Does it quack?" Yugi asked Kaiba.
"Does it quack?" Kaiba asked Alex.
"Yes it quacks," Alex said with a grin.
"Yes it quacks," Kaiba said back to Yugi.
"Yes it quacks," Yugi told Tea.
"Um...How much?" Tea wondered.
"How much?" Yugi repeated to Kaiba.
"How much?" Kaiba turned his gaze to Alex.
"Five bucks!" Alex stated matter-of-factly.
"Five bucks," Kaiba said to Yugi.
"Five bucks," Yugi told Tea.
Tea turned her gaze now to Joey, "Hey Joey, you wanna buy a duck?"

"No..." Joey muttered.
"Way to go!" Kaiba snapped, "Now we have to start over!"
"Well, at least you won' get ta make funna me when I mess up again!" Joey yelled back.
"Joey, it's not that big a deal," Tea said gently, "You'll get it. Just try!"
"You know, Alex and I can do this by ourselves for a few hours, we don't need you guys anyway." Kaiba said. Joey'd pissed him off.
"So go play by ya'selves!" Joey huffed. Kaiba'd pissed him off.
"It's harder with just two people..." Alex said, "And not as much fun..."

"Come on Joey, he didn't mean anything by it..." Yugi said reassuringly, "He was just kidding..."
Joey turned his gaze to the blond, "Try tellin' dat to him!" he sanpped, nodding toward Kaiba. "He always means something by it, even if no one else cna see it!"
Tea sighed and turned away from Joey to Kaiba, "I don't suppose you'd willingly tell him you didn't mean it, would you?"
"Not really, no..." Kaiba said icily. "It's his own damn fault he took it the wrong way..."
Tea glared at Kaiba for a moment before her gaze returned to Joey, "Please Joey...It's just a game, it's not like he meant-"
"You heard him yourself, Tea!" Joey snapped. "He did mean it!"
"Boys!" Alex snapped, now trying to end the fight before it got any further out of control. "Come on, it's just a game. There's no reason to get upset about it..."
"Lets start over," Yugi offered, "And if someone makes a mistake then..." he shrugged, "It's not like we can't start again. We'll get better the more we at least try."
Tea nodded in agreement, "It's just for fun, Joey." she stated. "There's no reason to get upset now."
Joey hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering for a minute or two on Kaiba before he nodded. "Aright...Only if he'll stop making fun of me."
They all tunred to Kaiba.

Kaiba and Joey stared at each other.
Kaiba shrugged. "Whatever. Let's just start again."
"Apologize." Alex blurted.
"What?" Seto looked at her.
"Tell him you're sorry." she elaborated.
"No!" Kaiba half-laughed at her.
"Then I'm not playing either." Alex crossed her arms.
"This was your idea." he reminded her.

(He looked at her? Like he's not sure he's looking at her? *Points to the random '?')

Yugi sighed and looked from Joey to Kaiba and then to Alex, who'd managed to cross her arms and make herself sound childish without really looking the part. Exactly what that meant? Ah...That was too difficult to describe.
"Come on guys," Yugi started to the three of them. "We can't continue the game unless someone apologizes first!"
"I'm not apologizing to him!" Kaiba snapped, perhaps just as childish as what Alex had been moments before. "I shouldn't have to!"
"And I shouldn't have to play the damn game..." Joey muttered crossly.
"No one's making you play, Mutt." Kaiba said icily.
"Then I won't!"
"Fine!"
"Guys!" Tea snapped at the two of them now, hoping this would be enough to end the fight before another fight started."This is getting childish. Kaiba just apologize to Joey for making fun of him earlier. At least then you can stop arguing and sounding childish and Alex will help us learn how to play the game again. We'll start all over."
Kaiba turned and gazed questioningly at Tea, "I shouldn't have to apologize..." he muttered.
"Kaiba," Tea looked at him now, meeting his icy blue eyes. "This was your fault to begin with...If it weren't for you, this entire fight wouldn't have been created in the first place. Just tell him your sorry and move on."
Joey looked up, as though half expecting him to actually apologize. The other half, well the other half was more doubting that it was possible.

The boy and girl stared each other down. She knew better than to turn away. He'd think he'd won, that he was off the hook. But he wouldn't submit to her that easily either. Unfortunately, as the silence lasted, Seto felt his anger ebb away. He broke his gaze away from Tea, but did not look directly at Joey either, choking out the words, "I'm sorry..."
"Yeah, well..." Joey said quietly, "I'm sorry I got so upset..."
"So who wants to buy a duck?" Alex asked, bubbly again.
