The Sands of Time

(I'm on a kick. I wanted to do something with Umi in it and thought this would be the perfect time to do it. Takes place back in the past.)

Umi stopped running when he neared the palace. He turned and looked behind him. Where did they go? He couldn't have lost him that quick. He looked up at the sun, it was straight above him so he could only guess it was around noon. He turned and looked around, pushing black hair away from his brown eyes so he could see better. He was close to the palace and yet he was close to the town. He looked from the palace toward the town before looking back to the palace and taking off running again, only stopping when he came across a guard standing by the palace walls. "I need to speak to the Pharaoh!"
The guard looked down at him. "I'm sorry, but he's busy at the moment." he replied in a monotone (I think that's the right word. It should be)
Umi sighed and turned away from the guard. He couldn't say he didn't already know that was going to happen. He looked around before realizing he was stuck. He couldn't really go back into the village. Not at the moment at least.

(I'm bored okay, that's why I'm doing this)

[High Priest Ali]

(What'd he do this time?)

Yuri watched Umi from the turret above. He grinned and droped down behind the boy, making him jump.
"Hey U!" Yuri said. "What'cha up to?"

[Royal Vizier Kris]

(U? Nice nickname. You know how long it's been since we've used the two of them in a rp...)

Umi turned around and looked at Yuri, he gave his friend a small smile "Nothing...Trying to find something to do."

[High Priest Ali]

(Long time since we used them in anything...)

"Wanna go on patrol with me?" Yuri asked. He was bored too.

[Royal Vizier Kris]

(No kidding!)

"Yes, I would like to." Umi said.

[High Priest Ali]

"Kay!" Yuri grinned, "Come on." And he lead the way down the steps.
"Aren't you, you know, supposed to be guarding the castle? Mr Captain of the Guard?" Umi asked.
"It'll be fine." Yuri said.

[Royal Vizier Kris]

"You say that now. But watch when we get back the castle will be on fire and it'll all be your fault." Umi replied.
