(Just go with me here. I was inspired in the shower again. XD)
Midnight after the semifinals and no one seemed to be tired. So the entire gang was in the main room, just talking. The conversation went all over. But Kaiba froze when they started talking about family, particularly their parents. His mom and dad had been gone for more than ten years. He got jealous when people talked about how cool their parents were, and really pissed when they said they were a pain. He'd give anything to have anybody... This was the last group of people he wanted to fall apart in front of, so he quietly slipped out. But Tea saw him leave. He'd been really quiet for a while, ever since they switched the topic from school to home. And suddenly she knew what was wrong, and she didn't want Kaiba to be alone right now. She whispered to Yugi where she was going and slipped out too.
(I need them to be alone a while for this turn out, so keep everybody in the main room. I really would like to hear some funny stories about your parents if you have them.)

(The only funny story I have I can think of is the Texas Tea Party ^^;. Hmm, interesting choice of discussion, family. I'm throwing in a small flashback because I have nothing else to do, lol)
Kris stood close to the door, listening to everyone else talk about their family. She hadn't said a word about her family since they got on the topic. She knew there were the few people that knew about her and her family. She hadn't told many people anything about her family. She turned her attention to the window, trying to keep her mind on something else. She looked back at the group only to find Kaiba had left, she watched Tea follow him. She didn't bother moving. Whatever was wrong with him, Tea could help. Again, she turned and looked out the window, a few tears slid down her cheek. She brushed away the tears that welled up in her eyes before anyone noticed. Why had they jumped from school to family? Why couldn't it have been something else? She couldn't think of one happy moment she had shared with her family. Not that she had much of a family anyways.
It was raining. The only reason she had remembered that was because she loved the rain. Her step-mom had just brought her back from the park. The eight-year-old ran to her bedroom to find some dry cloths. When she walked into the kitchen, she saw her step-mom and step-dad. He was glaring at her, a glass in his hand. "Get out!" he yelled making Kris jump. "You can't keep me away from her!" the women shouted back. "I...Said...Get...Out." he growled, his free hand opening a drawer and pulling out something sharp. Slowly, her step-mom backed away. Her breathing slowed as she saw Kris standing in the hallway. She gave her a sad look before turning back to the man. "I'll be back to get her. Get her away from you. You'll be locked away where you can never hurt her or me again." she said before looking at Kris again. "I'm sorry, honey." she said and then turned and left the house.
She never did come back. That was the last night Kris had seen her. So now she was stuck with her step-dad who came home with someone new at least once a week. She turned back toward the group after wiping away more tears, hoping none of them seemed to notice her.
(Yes it's long but I had to fill up 10 minutes before I had to go to bed.)

(I'm not gonna sit here for two hours and read that. ^^; Sorry!)
Tea lost track of Kaiba eventually, but she knew where his room was. She stood in the doorway a while and just watched him. He was on his stomach on his bed, flipping through a very old, very big red book. A photo album. Every page or two a smile would part his lips. Eventually, Tea got the courage to speak. "Hey..." she said quietly. He jumped and looked up. "Can I see?" she asked, pointing at the pictures. Seto hesitated but then nodded. And Tea came over and sat on the edge of the bed next to him. He pushed the album closer so she could see.

(2 hours? It's only 5 paragraphs long. Not even that long!)
As she continued to listen to the others talk about their family and how they wished they had different parents all she wanted to do was tell them all to stop complaining. They were the lucky ones who had parents that gave a damn about them whereas she was stuck with one step-dad who wanted nothing to do with her. She slid down a wall so she was now sitting on the floor, her back against the wall. Flashback after flashback. One memory she remembered so clearly.
"You'll love this place, Kristina." Kris rolled her eyes at the comment and without saying a word to him, she opened the car door and got out, slamming it shut agian before opening another door and unlocking the cat carrier "Sorry Mocha," she whsipered to the brown and white cat she had picked up. She cat looked up at her, giving her a 'I'm hungry, please feed me' type of look. "I'll get you food when I get the chance." she promised as she walked up to the fairly small house. She walked inside and set the cat down so it could look around. She then walked out of the house and around back to the not so big backyard. She let out a sigh and leaned against the house. They left America for this piece of crap house? She had to leave behind everything she had gained. Just so they could start over new? It made no sense. Then again nothing her step-father did since the night her step-mom left them made sense.
Kris let out a sigh and drew her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her knees. It wasn't fair. Out of all of them, with the exception of Kaiba she had the right to tell them to stop complaining about how bad their family was. But then again, she was luckier then Kaiba. At least she had one parent. Okay step-dad but still, he didn't have anyone besides his little brother.

(No...wait...what?! When?)
The first picture Tea saw was very tattered. It was of a young man who looked remarkably like Kaiba except with black hair but with the same blue eyes. Next to him was a young women, with dark red hair and deep violet eyes. In her arms was a baby, with shaggy black hair that Tea could only guess was Mokuba, and in the bottom corner was a small grinning boy with brown hair and blue eyes. Seto himself. "That's us..." he said quietly, and Tea was pulled out of that other world the picture showed, "Before..." Kaiba swallowed hard and looked away but said, "Mom got real sick...and when she died...Dad just quit trying...he died in his sleep about a year later..." "I'm so sorry..." Tea whispered, "I didn't know-" "I am so sick of people saying that..." Seto shook his head. Tea stared at him a minute. And then turned the page.

(How does one die in their sleep if they aren't old?)
Flashback after flashback. It wouldn't stop, it was like a movie playing over and over. So many memories so many flashbacks. So much to remember that it was hard figuring out which memory came first. Eventually she gave up on trying to remember what happened before what and just let them come. The more memories the worse she felt. The more she wished she knew her real parents. Wished she didn't have to go through life everyday living with her step-father.
(I need to be in the right mood to do this and that's not going to happen very soon lol.)

(No, Kayla. And there was this guy, Kris, on Home Makeover just last night, 25 and died in his sleep with a brain anuerysm. That's not what happened to Kaiba's dad, but it's a good example. Death doesn't just come for old people.)
On this page were three pictures. At first, Tea thought that they were all the same, but she slowly noticed some differences in them. For one thing, the first one was in black and white. It looked like Kaiba and his dad, but if you looked hard enough, you could tell the boy had black hair. This was Kaiba's dad and grandfather. The next was Kaiba and his dad, in the same position, one right next to the other and even, in fact, what looked like the same lake and dock behind them. The third had a different background, but a familiar face. Seto was older in this one. It actually looked recent. And... "Who's this?" Tea said, pointing to the old man. "That's my grandpa." Seto smiled, "That's from last summer. When he took me with him to the sheepdog trials. He has this australian sheepherd..." The man was the granddad again, older now, with his grandson and not his own child. He looked exactly like Kaiba too, but with white hair and glasses. Those blue eyes must run in the family. "But..." Tea said, "I thought you and Mokuba were the only ones left?"

(I meant use real ones...and Ali's not even in this. How is Adi there?)
"No," Seto shook his head, "Grandma and Grandpa live in Tennessee. And then there's my aunt. She lives...what month is this?" "November..." Tea said. Kaiba thought a minute. "Yeah...yeah, she'd be in Bermuda right about now..." He got a real sad look after that and said, "And Mac and Andy have always counted me as family..." Tea thought about the two other boys, still in the main room, probably not even aware that Kaiba was gone. It must have hurt, for them to be able to join in and for Kaiba to have to sit out. "They seemed to be all over the topic..." she said. "They usually don't bring it up around me." Seto promised, "But I can't expect them not to with all you guys around. And I know it's on their minds." And speaking of Mac and Andy, they were all over the next few pages.

(I'm hoping you mean stories Kayla. Just go with it. I'm partially making things up off the top of my head ^^;. Then again some of mine were actual ideas I had for a story. Hell I could come up with a million flashbacks for Kris. Some new ones at that. But I don't want to have to do that. So you know I'm going to do something)
A few more minutes of listening to them talking, Kris stood up and slipped out of the room, unoticed. She wiped away tears from her eyes as she walked through the blimp unsure of where she was going. She went up to the top of the blimp so she was outside where the duels had taken place earlier. She walked to the edge and looked down before backing up and sitting down on the dueling platform, staring at nothing in particular.
(Writer's block ^^; you about done with your little sweet scene, Aly? I'm trying to fill up some space here and have nothing left and I don't think you want to read the flashbacks I could come up with)
